Tips

The Christian race is one filled with battles, uphill struggles, falls and distractions but Jesus runs with us and therefore it is also filled with peace, joy, growth, and the assurance that it will end and there will be a prize.

I subscribe to a daily online devotion called Good Morning Girls and I loved this thought today.  I thought you might also!

Before we left for Florida, I got a perm.  My hair is so, so straight and the humidity is not a good thing for straight, straight hair.  It was the best thing I did for Florida weather and the bonus of all of this is that Jon has told me 6 or 7 times how much he loves it,  You can't get better than that can you?  What do you think?

I went to a demo at the Owl and Pussy Cat Scrapbooking Store on Wednesday.  It was fun and I learned a few new tips that I am sharing below.
  • When spritzing your paper it always curls.  If you spritz the back first it helps to keep it from curling as much.
  • On the larger 6x6 stamps, ink the stamp and lay your paper on top of the inked stamp,.  Then when lifting up your stamped image, hold finger on corner to lift it and your won't smear it.
  • If you use water color paper, the colors won't be as intense as if they would be if you use smooth paper.  She calls smooth paper Brayer paper.
  • She used a glass mat when she used her craft knife.  You get a much more crisp cut.  I am going to ask her more about it tomorrow when I  take a class.
That's it for today!  Have a great day!!!

First of all, Yes being a christian does not mean that we will not have those battles or struggles or free from the battles of life but yes it does mean that we have someone to lean on and know that He is walking right with us through lifes struggles. Second, LOVE the perm. It is so funny because the girls that go through beauty school now don't even know how to give a perm because they say that people do not gets perms any longer so they do not teach them about doing them. If I want a perm, I have go back to another stylist. Ha Ha. Third, when you say that once you stamp the image and you put your finger in the corner to lift it, are you talking about corner of the paper or corner of the stamp? Enjoy your Florida stay...

When I am challenged love reading Footprints in the Sand, its so beautiful and such a wonderful reminder.

LOL, now you look like me Joan. I too have straight oily hair and have to get a perm every 3 months, my hair doesnt hold it long and I have a similar short style, so only get 1 cut in between the next perm.

Thanks for your tips. Glad your enjoying classes.

Sharman, I edited the post to hopefully explain it better. I am talking about the corner of the paper.

I love your curly hair. Got a perm last week, and mine is quite curly now.Mostly older folks visit the salon where I go, and they all know how to give perms. My hair is not only straight, but very fine. I thought when it got gray, it would be coarser and easier to manage, but not so.

Well Good Afternoon, I love quote, can always use them to make me think a little more. Your hair is beautiful and I do love the red on you, you just pop in this photo, time to change the blog picture. I've been working on cards the last couple of days, have about 10 that need to be done before I head for FL on the 4th. I'm also get a perm next week, but that's nothing new for me, but mine is so easy to do now. Love the tips, can alway use more in what we are doing. Enjoy your time in the SUNSHINE state.

Miss you like you used to visit us every day but I know you like a little free time also don't blame you at all as I will be 80 my next b-day. I also have hair problems and loved all the comments on perms. Don't know where I would be without them. They sure have come a long way over the years. Your hair is so pretty and so soft looking and I think you are pretty inside and out. Loved your tips.
