Birthday card for Lori

Our daughter Lori, will be celebrating  her birthday on the 21st, so whenever I have had a few minutes I work on her birthday card.

She loves vintage, so I purchased Maya paper with making her card in mind.

The first thing I did was distress the edges using scissors.   Not my favorite way to do it, but I don't have a Distresser here in Florida (on my list to purchase when I get back to Indiana).  I brought a sewing machine with me, but had to order a new foot control.   Therefore, I couldn't stitch around the edges.  I popped up each layer for dimension and inked the edges.

I loved the mini flower paper, but didn't want it to be the background, so I used a Sizzix shape die to cut out the top layer, so the next layer can be seen.

Tim Holtz Tattered Rose die was used to cut out flower petals and a Marianne leaf die, along with a Cheery Lynn leaves

I stamped a tiny bird in the corner and used a calendar with the 21st circled.

I hope she loves it.

Yes, I have to agree with the rest of the gals, you still have THE TOUCH. I love Maja paper and you have accompanied a beautiful card with it and I'm sure Lori will love it. If she doesn't you can send it to me and I will frame it!
Hugs from Indiana!
