A Masculine Card

This has been a very fun card to make and I keep thinking of new ideas for this style of card that I will be trying.

I saw this idea on Pinterest by Kathleen Wingerson.  She has a great video too that you can see by clicking here.

One thing that I did differently, was to stamp the sentiment before attaching the front panel to the card. My friends Darlene Pavlick and Diane Hover spent the day with me crafting on Saturday and Darlene made that suggestion which I thought was excellent.  Because, if you mess up you don't have to remake the card. (ask me how I know)

The clear panel on the front side allows you to see inside which makes for such a pretty different card.

By the way, my friend Jean has been released from the hospital in St. Louis and is now in rehab.
I talked with her yesterday and she sounds so good.  Thank you for your prayers and I sure give God the glory for bringing her through this illness.  She spent 39 days in the hospital.  Praise God for her recovery.

Let me know if you try this card, and what ideas you have for it.  Also, send me a link when you post it to your blog.

Have a fantastic week.  I am having a "camp" day for my 17 Grand and Great Grandchildren on August 26th. I am planning a big day for them with crafts, games, flannel graph bible stories, singing and of course food.  If you have any ideas to suggest for games let me know.  Their ages are from 4 to 15.  I think I have the crafts in mind, but always looking for any good ideas you might have.  My goal is to make lasting memories for them.

Glad your friend is doing better, prayers help....have fun with all the kiddos, I know I sure enjoy mine when they come (but shhh don't tell them, but I kind of like it when they go back home, too...LOL)!!!

What an awesome card. I would love to see a tutorial on how you did it. Glad to know Jean is doing better. We have some of the best hospitals in St. Louis :). I don't have any suggestions for your day with the grandkids and great grands, but it sounds wonderful! Haven't seen flannel graph Bible stories for years. I know the day will be loaded with memories that the kids will cherish always. Hope you'll share pictures.

Awesome card! I will have to look at the video. You did a wonderful job. I thought of a few games for your crew. Bean bag toss, ring toss, also if it is hot, a water balloon fight ( my second graders always loved that ). I would have one near the end of the school year when we had field day. I would divide them into age groups so the little ones don't get creamed by the bigger ones! Scavenger hunts are fun too, but require a lot of prep work by you before hand. Anyway, have fun! I want to come -- LOL!

Thanks so much Joan for sharing the time with Diane & I ... what a fun day we had and I just LOVE this card design you shared. I will be making several to add to my 'show stash' ... I think they will be a hit. I always enjoy seeing your beautiful gardens and eating your yummy lunch dishes ... loved that cucumber salad (see I do eat SOME green veggies, lol). So good to hear Jean is doing much better ... will continue to keep her in my prayers. Enjoy those yungins ... I have no doubt you will create lots of happy memories for them. They are so lucky to have a grandma like you!! HUGS my friend!
